Join us for our annual SSDT Open House! This is our opportunity to welcome you or your youth dancer to the studio, get acclimated with our staff and lovely instructors, learn more about our programming and get ready for an engaging year of dance at The School of Spectrum Dance Theater.
A Warm welcome to ssdt
At The School of Spectrum Dance Theater, we believe in Dance for All—welcoming dancers of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels into a supportive environment where they can develop their technique, creativity, confidence, and grow a lasting connection to movement. Whether you or your youth are returning for another year or discovering Spectrum for the first time, our Open House is a chance to experience the community behind the classes!
Come See the Studio
Join us in the studio Saturday, August 29, from 12:00–3:00 PM for an afternoon designed for our new and returning dancers and families. Meet our instructors and staff, explore the studios, ask questions, and get acquainted with the community before the Fall session begins.
Connect & Swap
Open House is also a chance to spend time with the Spectrum community beyond the studio. Bring gently used leotards, tights, shoes, warm-ups, and other dancewear to donate or exchange through our community dancewear swap…and with Madrona Park and Beach right next door, families are welcome to bring beach gear and make an afternoon of it!
Get Ready for the School Year
Families will be able to pick up and learn more about the 2026–27 School Handbook, your guide to classes, important dates, studio policies, communication, dress codes, and other information you'll need throughout the year. Our staff and School Director be available to introduce themselves and answer any questions about Fall classes, enrollment, and finding the right opportunities for you or your youth.
No Harm in Exploring!
You may come to Open House just to look around, meet an instructor, or learn more about a class—and leave feeling inspired to join in.
As a thank-you for spending the afternoon with us, families and dancers who decide to enroll in an eligible Fall session class or purchase a series of drop-in classes in person during Open House can receive a special discounted rate!
It’s a great chance to ask questions, explore something new, and follow that spark if a class catches your interest. This offer is available during Open House only.
