Gift of Dance Scholarship

The Gift of Dance Scholarships offer financial aid to students between the ages of 2 and 22 who desire to dance and can demonstrate financial need. We distribute these scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis. If funds become limited, students will be placed on a waiting list until they become available.

We award Gift of Dance Scholarships to students based on the following guidelines:

  • Financial need

  • The student’s desire to dance

More Information + guidelines

Our professional teaching staff is committed to nurturing dancers through a strong dance curriculum that develops self-esteem, coordination, imagination, technical skills, stamina, discipline, and artistry.

The Gift of Dance Program is an opportunity to teach students follow-through, time management, project management, and tenacity from the early stages of learning each step to the final bow at the performance.

Requirements for participating in the Gift of Dance Scholarship program are as follows:

  • Consistent attendance.

  • Punctual arrival to class.

  • Respectful behavior both inside and outside of the studio.

If students are found violating these requirements, including excessive unexcused absences, tardiness to class, or inappropriate behavior, they will lose their scholarship.

Additionally, parents/guardians of Gift of Dance Scholarship recipients must volunteer for at least 15 hours per session. These volunteer hours can be met by helping at the studio, working backstage at a performance, or offering pro bono services if relevant to The School of Spectrum Dance Theater’s needs.

If you have any questions regarding the Gift of Dance Scholarships, the applications, or the requirements, please contact the School Director. You may access an application link by clicking here.

If a student does not meet the Gift of Dance Scholarship requirements, parents/guardians are encouraged to sign up for work‐study in the studio in exchange for reduced tuition. Families on work-study must volunteer at least 30 hours per session
