The Spectrum Dance Theater’s mission to provide ‘Dance For All’ means reaching communities that have historically been underfunded, often resulting in a lack of arts-programs in schools or community centers.
Spectrum Dance Theater centers the availability of dance and dance instruction for youth and adults across its Community Engagement programs.

For Spectrum, Community Engagement programs like our DanceSPEAK program, offer a necessary outlet for creative expression and community building, and are often their students’ and their families’ first introduction to consistent dance instruction.
Through community engagement, Spectrum continuously builds programming to dismantle barriers to arts exposure, and they can only accomplish these crucial programs with your support. Community Engagement programming is FREE of charge, of course!

DANCEspeak
DanceSPEAK is a free THREE-DAY program for youth ages 8-16 who want to explore contemporary dance as a medium for self-expression and connection. Spectrum Dance Theater teaching artists will provide an introduction to the fundamentals of contemporary dance.
Youth will learn to move skillfully, improvise using dance concepts, and collaborate to create original choreography. Participants will be split into smaller groups for technique and some choreography.
