A Holiday Performance by the Spectrum School Community
The School of Spectrum Dance Theater presents The Nutcracker: A Storybook Ballet, a special workshop performance bringing together youth and adult dancers from across our school community.
Developed through an eight-week, audition-based workshop, the production gives participating dancers the opportunity to rehearse, learn, and bring their work to the stage in the Tricia Stromberg Studio Theater.
About the Workshop
Participation in the 2026 workshop was by audition only, with opportunities for dancers ages 5–11, 12–18, and adults 18+, including adult performers in Party Parent roles. Auditions were held September 27, followed by Sunday rehearsals from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM, October 4–December 6, with no rehearsals October 25 or November 29.
Performance Weekend
Join us December 11–13, 2026 for The Nutcracker: A Storybook Ballet in Spectrum Dance Theater’s Tricia Stromberg Studio Theater, located upstairs at the School.
From the Studio to the Stage
Rehearsals began in October, with dancers working together each Sunday toward the December performances. The workshop was created as a focused performance experience, giving students the opportunity to build their artistry, rehearsal discipline, and confidence while working toward a shared production.
It Takes A Community
Productions like The Nutcracker: A Storybook Ballet extend beyond the dancers onstage. As performance weekend approaches, The School of Spectrum Dance Theater will be inviting volunteers to help support the production in the days leading up to the December performances.
Stay tuned for information about ways families and community members can get involved.
