DIRECTOR OF SCHOOL AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Ms. Hensley is a native of Seattle. She trained at Cornish College of the Arts, Spectrum Dance Theater, Santa Fe Dance Foundation, Creative Dance Center’s Educator Training Program, and Freehold Theater and Acting Studio, where she studied on a merit scholarship. Ms Hensley joined the faculty of Spectrum Dance Theater in 1997 teaching creative, ballet & jazz classes. The popularity of her classes lead to collaborations with many of Seattle’s public and private schools, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Seattle Children’s Museum, & Seattle Theatre Group, as well as being featured on PBS. Ms Hensley was appointed Education Outreach Director in 2004 and a year later was appointed Spectrum’s School and Education Outreach Director. Over the years, Ms Hensley has gained extensive experience managing educational programs and residencies, and through this success has served on arts panels in the Seattle Area including The Mayor’s Office of Art’s & Cultural Affairs. Ms Hensley has developed and continues to develop many long-term relationships with schools & arts organizations throughout the Seattle area, which she believes is important in building a locally and nationally recognized arts education organization.
