Neo-Traditional African Dance Class

with Charles O. Anderson

Ages: teens and adults

Get ready to move in an environment and dance community that nurtures, renews, and inspires the body and spirit. This contemporary African class exposes participants to a variety of African movements ranging from traditional Unfundulai technique to South African Afrofusion, Hip-hop/Funk, Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, Afro-beat, and Reggae styles. Class begins with warm-up exercises that condition the body for the rigors of these forms by developing strength, aerobic stamina, coordination, flexibility, and rhythmic awareness.
