Neo-Traditional African Dance Class

Ages: teens and adults
Get ready to move in an environment and dance community that nurtures, renews, and inspires the body and spirit. This contemporary African class exposes participants to a variety of African movements ranging from traditional Unfundulai technique to South African Afrofusion, Hip-hop/Funk, Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, Afro-beat, and Reggae styles. Class begins with warm-up exercises that condition the body for the rigors of these forms by developing strength, aerobic stamina, coordination, flexibility, and rhythmic awareness. This 90-minute class is devised for the intermediate to advanced dancer ready to experience the challenge of uniting the mind and body through dance and music.
