THE DANCERS
David Alewine began his training at Idyllwild Arts Academy. He danced with the Atlanta Ballet for two seasons, under the direction of John McFall, with whom he had the opportunity to tour to London as a guest artist. He has also performed with Dance Kaleidoscope for three seasons, under the direction of David Hochoy, at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, in Ashland, Oregon. This is David's fourth season with Spectrum.
Peter deGrasse was born in Walla Walla, where he received his early training from Idalee Hutson-Fish. He later studied at San Francisco Ballet School and at Juilliard, after which he performed principal and solo roles as a member of both American Repertory Ballet and Sacramento Ballet. Peter has also danced in New York with John Passafiume Dancers and the Adam Miller Dance Project, and in Philadelphia with Phrenic/New Ballet. Away from the concert milieu, he has appeared with Big J., Dr. Strange, and other members of the lavabots, a liquid style dance crew based in Northern California. This is his third season with Spectrum.
Allison Keppel began her dance training in Bellevue, and has studied on scholarship at the Tremaine Dance Center (LA), Westlake Dance Center and Edge Dance Center. She received her BA in Dance from the University of Washington in 1997, having joined Spectrum Dance Theater in January of the same year. She has also danced with Ineffect Hip-Hop Company, including performances at Bumbershoot, and in the Neil Young show. Allison has been teaching dance in various Seattle schools, including Elizabeth's Dance Dimensions in Bellevue, for more than nine years.
Lara Seefeldt was born in Seattle and studied at Pacific Northwest Ballet School from 1987 to 2000. From 2000 to 2001, she studied privately with Stephanie Saland for a year before dancing with Fresno Ballet. This is Lara's fourth season with Spectrum.
Julia Wilkins trained at Olympic Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Seattle Children's Theatre, Circle in the Square Theatre School, and received a BFA in Dance from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She has danced for Martha Clarke at New York Theatre Workshop, The Kennedy Center, and with New York City Opera at Lincoln Center, as well as for Gus Solomons Jr. at Lincoln Center Out of Doors. She completed three seasons with Daniel Wilkins' danielandsomesuperfriends at Diane von Furstenberg The Theatre. Julia returned to Seattle to dance with Donald Byrd and to teach at her family's school, Olympic Ballet. This is Julia's fourth season with Spectrum.
Hannah Lagerway received her BFA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and her Graduate Diploma from the Laban center in London, England. She has performed in 10 different countries with Company Flak, Compagnie Cas Public and Transitions Dance Company among others. She has enjoyed performing and collaborating with artists such as Jose Navas, Adam Rapa, Helene Blackburn, and Jasmin Vardimon. Hannah has had her own choreography performed in the US, Canada and England. She is looking forward to her second season with Spectrum Dance Theater.
Joel Myers is in his first season performing with Spectrum Dance Theater. His past professional experience includes working as a guest artist with several local dance companies but has been primary with the Evergreen City Ballet under artistic director Wade Walthall. In addition to performing, Joel loves to teach and choreograph dance.
Danielle P. Wilkins is from Kentucky where she trained for ten years at the Louisville Ballet. She received her BFA degree from the University of Hartford, during her study Danielle performed at the Kennedy Center as a soloist in Jean Grand Maitre's Uroborus. She has worked professionally with Rebecca Kelly Ballet, Mary Seidman and Dancers, Mimi Garrard Dance Company, Steven Koplowitz, Marco Carrabba, Thought Forms Dance Company, and danielandsomesuperfriends.
Christina Cooley grew up and trained in Auburn, WA. She studied with Wade Walthall at the Evergreen City Ballet for seven years, where she danced most principal roles in the repertoire. Christina then moved to New York to persue her training at The Joffery School of Ballet, where she stayed for two years on full scholarship. Christina recently moved back to the West coast to dance with Spectrum Dance Theater.
Natalie Dahlstrom recieved her training from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and studied intensively with Hilary Cartwright, Magali Messac, and Ron Tice. She has danced with Ballet Bellevue, where she performed most lead roles. Most recently, she was invited to perform with the Chamber Dance Company in a restaging of Primitive Mysteries. Natalie is a certified trainer of the Gyrotonic Expansion System and works at Gyrotonic Seattle.
