Not possible to be an uninvolved voyeur! This is SO right on time! Very important voice. I am proud to know Spectrum Dance Theater.
Beautiful. Exquisite. Rattled me to my core.
Great stuff folks! Thank you all.
Donald this is so cool. Smarty pants. Do you have this on YouTube? You should put it on there and see if you can catch more fish. The company looks really good. The material is exceptional. The experience for me of watching this is like what I imagine a good book is (I rarely pick one up). It's different than live experience - watching the blogs (went from 3 - 1) it was totally captivating. You are definitely on to something with this I think
What an amazing way to share the work and the process!
True to form, the work of Donald Byrd always provokes thought - as he continually finds intriguing angles to explore a subject. The amazing dancers and artists that are participating in the process not only give from within, but are required to dig deep into uncomfortable areas which draw us (the viewer) in closer. I am grateful to view this video blog and look forward to the next. I feel inspired to have experienced a portion of the exploration. I only hope to see it live on stage. Thank you DB!
What beautiful dancers! Thank you for editing without indulgence. Oh my god I loved how they filmed you with an intersting background behind you. Nice detail. Donald what a nice thing to cut away to you and the artists..very cool...yes making the dance no matter what. I would have never known about the injury as we seem to spend more time in chairs than anything. I am at an Apple store and I have an audience behind me intrigued. Love those dancers feet! Wow BAM!...I thought, I felt and I hope you use the Middle Eastern music.....so full of breath like your choreography. I feel so good watching the bodies carving space...Seems like a very supportive and inspirational environment for you. Way cool.....
