Hi-
The geniune language provided by Donald and the dancers makes the "current events" angle stong and believeable. Too often art and life as a stimulus for work falls shor t and feels forced - this has a lyrical flow on top of craggy bottom, choreographically and emotionally moving.. cool.

Again ...beautiful. tragic and soo Donald. I am thankful that Donald is in the world. I am again filled with wonder and humbled by Spectrum. I am a stronger more sensitive person having had the honor and fortune of this bright star. Thank you for your brave creative courage.

I starting watching this blog weeks again and realized very quickly I would have to wait until I had time to fully digest both the content and the impact. Adding context to the process of creation adds an incredible amount of depth. Whether or not the dancers can communicate the exact nature of their research to the audience, the impact will be felt through the added understanding in their bodies and minds.

Passing this information on through a blog or such media is the next step in the evolution of content delivery, allowing the audience to gain deeper insight that in past would have been conveyed by a different medium.

Fabulous. Can't wait for more. Would love to see the final piece.

So fabulous to see the core of our nation's pain and loss being the very nucleus of your compassion and creativity. In all this sadness, this beauty is hope. I can't wait to see the performance; I love to see the dancers process and commitment. Thank you for sharing this.

Donald, you like Mr. Joffrey are my hero. You continually teach me, your artists and your audience. You are at the top of the moutain. You are a great man of the dance.

Watching the video moved me to tears listening and watching the dancers bring the lives of the people who sacrificed so much and whose loss is so tragic. Its healthy to feel the pain directly that can often be so distant and you've helped make that possible. Thank you.

This is wonderful. It adds a depth to the piece and the dancers' effort that I might not have realized. Thanks for sharing part of your process and for creating this awareness. I look forward to seeing the performance on stage.

Thanks for sharing. This looks to be another extraordinary piece of work.
Watching this makes me really miss you and the process.
I think viewing the video is just as an incredible experience as watching the piece onstage.

I love seeing the layers of intelligence and collaboration underlying what we're going to see on stage in October - thanks for this window into your dance-making

really well done
made me want to come see it
like that you let people in on the process
that your dancers are researching real people then adding to the story-i like that sort of 3rd element where research and imagination meet creating something new
that it is including ww 2, vietnam this culture of war we are in
that you are including iraq culture and people music-very evocative
the wheelchair really got me too-weaving in and out of the peoples stories
did you see the piece in the ny times - i think ysdty about the maimed portraits of soldiers?

this is a
really important piece
thanks for sharing

from a marketing standpoint I like how it engages a pre-performance audience with the individual dancers... And preps them, engages them, in your thoughts and ideas. this is obviously going to be a very moving work - on all levels. can't wait to see it.

a brave an unsettling piece. It makes me sad to think that war has become so fixed in our consciousness that it comes out the other end as beautiful art. Donald's familiar movement lends itself so well to speaking for the soldiers, wounded and courageous. his intention to make human the dead soldiers hs been realized.
