STUDIO SERIES - DECEMBER 1-3 2006

SPECTRUM DANCE THEATER presents the first program of its 2006 -2007 Studio Series, December 1 -3 at Madrona Dance Studios on Lake Washington.
Spectrum’s informal Studio Series was developed to foster and promote
the work of emerging choreographers and reflects the Company’s
commitment to encouraging audiences to experience contemporary dance in
an informal and welcoming setting at an affordable cost.
The first performance of the Studio Series is an Opening Night Benefit
on Friday, December 1st at 7:30 PM. It features two Seattle premieres
(Life Situations, White Man Sleep) choreographed by Spectrum Artistic
Director, Donald Byrd; Tantric Voices, by choreographer Thaddeus Davis;
and a new work by Olivier Wevers, principal dancer with Pacific
Northwest Ballet.
Admission for the Opening Night Benefit is $30, which includes a wine
and cheese reception with Donald Byrd, guest choreographers, and
dancers. Proceeds support the remaining 2006-07 season, including the
February Studio Series and regional engagements in Tacoma, Olympia, and
Langley.
This program will be performed again Saturday, December 2nd at 7:30 PM
and Sunday, December 3rd at 5:30 PM. Admission for Saturday and Sunday
is $15. Tickets can be purchased at the Madrona Dance Studios or by
